No Alcohol or Drugs

While you are out on bail, you might have a condition in place that states you cannot consume any alcohol or use any drugs. This means that you will need to refrain from going to bars or even drinking at home. You will certainly want to avoid using drugs or alcohol while driving as this could lead to another criminal charge.

No Firearms

If you own any guns, you might not be able to keep them at your house during this time. This is especially true if the crime against you involves some type of violence. If you own guns but cannot keep them at your house, you would need to find a place to store them or allow the police to confiscate them during this time.

No Leaving the State

When you are out on bail, you might be unable to travel long distances. You might be able to leave town, but you usually are not able to leave your state.

You Must Keep a Job

Another condition you might have to follow is keeping a job. If you currently have a job and get out on bail, one of the reasons the judge may have let you out is so that you can continue working. You will need to make sure you continue going to work as this is a common condition of bail.

You May Need to Check in

One last thing to know is that you might be required to check in with the bail bond agent from time to time. This might be weekly, or it could be monthly. You may have to do it in person or by calling in. In any case, you will need to make sure you check in as often as you are told to.
